Our services

CHRISTUS Spohn Rehabilitation Services at CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi—South offers inpatient and outpatient services performed by licensed professionals.

The inpatient department is located inside CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi—South on the fourth floor. This department provides physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to the entire hospital, as well as outpatient wound care.

The hospital has 142 beds in private rooms. Most of the therapy services are performed in our recently completed inpatient department on the fourth floor. We provide therapy interventions to the medical-surgical unit, the intensive care unit, the geropsychiatric unit and the recently completed orthopedic wing, built especially for patients who have undergone total joint replacement surgery or have an acute fracture.

The outpatient clinic is located at the rear of the hospital between the emergency room and the Medical Health Plaza. The clinic provides therapy for orthopedic patients from the competitive athlete to the “weekend warrior,” as well as for people who have undergone total joint replacement or have recent fractures, sprains or strains.

The outpatient clinic offers:

  • Experienced physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. All of our therapists are certified in McConnell taping technique. Our therapists are also knowledgeable in the McKenzie program and several other manual techniques.
  • An occupational therapist who specializes in the treatment and custom splinting of the hand and wrist.
  • The ability to customize our clients' plans of care to make sure we help them reach their goals of return to work or sport; or improvement of their quality of life.
  • Extended hours for people who need to come to therapy before or after work or school. We are open Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To request an appointment online, click here or call us at (361) 985-8000.

A prescription is required from a physician for therapy services.
