Functional
capacity evaluations
Also
called work capacity evaluations, these tests measure a person's
ability to return to work or gainful employment after injury.
This
detailed evaluation is generally done at our CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital
Corpus Christi—Shoreline facility and can take up
to four hours. We use various types of equipment and tests to simulate
or reproduce the physical and mental requirements of a specific
job and assess the client's current level of ability.
The
therapist's final summary compares a person's physical and mental
abilities to the demands of the job he or she held before injury
and provides information related to the person's capability.
