Penny
Merriman joined CHRISTUS Spohn Rehabilitation Services
in 2000 as a physical therapist in Kingsville at our Brahma clinic.
She became clinical coordinator at our Kingsville location in July
2003.
Penny's
education includes a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology from
Texas Woman's University, a master's degree in exercise physiology
from Texas A&M University–Kingsville and a master's degree
in physical therapy from Southwest Texas.
Previously,
Penny performed computer ergonomic evaluations at Citgo Refinery.
She also worked in cardiac rehabilitation as an exercise physiologist
and served as a student athletic trainer at Texas A&M University–Kingsville.
Penny
is knowledgeable in McConnel taping techniques. She received an
All-Star Award from CHRISTUS Spohn Rehabilitation Services
in 2001.
In
addition to her work as clinical coordinator, Penny has served as
a clinical instructor for several Del Mar physical therapist assistant
students. She has also contributed to Healthwise 55, speaking on
health issues for seniors.
